Restored archival video, artwork, and hundreds of photographs were combined with Dawn's music and vocal recordings in a stylized artistic movie. The DVD will be available February 2006 in Yellowknife music stores. |

Client: NWT Energy Corporation (2003) Ltd. (a subsidiary of NWT Power Corporation) Product: Promotional Video / DVD Date: 2003 - 2004 Services: Post Production / Video Editing / Matchmoving / 3D Modeling / Compositing / Animation / DVD Interface Design Victory Point FX produced a promotional video showcasing the construction of a proposed hydrogeneration power station at St. Charles Rapids on the Great Bear River. The project involved shooting aerial footage from a helicopter mounted camera and making several passes of the St. Charles Rapids area at various elevations. Video and audio editing, compositing, and visual effects were done in post production including construction of a realistic 3D digital model of the proposed dam which was composited into the aerial footage. »A New Look at Bovie Structure
Client: Northwest Territories Geoscience Office Product: Scientific Video / NWT Open Report 2004-002 (NTGO Publication) Date: 2004 Services: 3D GIS Data Compilation / 3D Modeling / Compositing / Animation Working closely with author, Regional Geophysicist Bernie MacLean, Victory Point FX produced several animations revealing 3D surface and sub-surface detail of the Bovie Structure, a fault zone in the southern NWT. Animations were integrated with Bernie’s technical presentation at the 2003 Yellowknife Geoscience Forum. A 3D computer-generated model of the structure was constructed from seismic data and 2D cross-sections of the fault zone. Animations were produced at broadcast TV quality with additional formats produced for CD, web, and DVD distribution. Additionally, a 3D version of the model offering interactive pan, zoom, and rotational controls was created for web deployment in Flash, Shockwave, and ViewPoint formats. »Daring to Die: The Story of the Black Devils
Client: History Television Product: Television Documentary Producer: Northern Sky Entertainment / Figments of Imagination Date: 2004 Services: 3D GIS Data Compilation / 3D Modeling / Compositing / Animation Victory Point FX produced animation sequences for a warfare documentary illustrating battle movements of the First Allied Special Service Force, known as the Black Devils, in World War II. Special effects work involved generating 3D digital elevation models of three war zones (Monte la Difensa, Anzio, and Iles D'Hyeres ) from archival WWII maps and creating animations of the terrain and retracing troop movements through the war zones. The documentary is available on VHS or DVD from the History Television website. |

Production of video and animation sequences involved combining voice-over audio, video, archival photographs, custom graphics, maps, and royalty-free background music. A custom Q & A game was also developed to test users with random questions on topics presented in the video. |
