Working closely with author, Regional Geophysicist Bernie MacLean, Victory Point FX produced several animations revealing 3D surface and sub-surface detail of the Bovie Structure, a fault zone in the southern NWT. Animations were integrated with Bernie’s technical presentation at the 2003 Yellowknife Geoscience Forum. A 3D computer-generated model of the structure was constructed from seismic data and 2D cross-sections of the fault zone. Animations were produced at broadcast TV quality with additional formats produced for CD, web, and DVD distribution. Additionally, a 3D version of the model offering interactive pan, zoom, and rotational controls was created for web deployment in Flash, Shockwave, and ViewPoint formats.
